New study shows a BrainHQ exercise upregulates acetylcholine

Study on BrainHQ Exercise Presented at Alzheimer's Association International Conference

Dear Voornaam,

I am excited to share the results of a new pilot study on BrainHQ and an important brain chemical called acetylcholine.

Acetylcholine is naturally produced in the brain, and is absolutely critical for memory and learning. When your brain pays attention, it releases acetylcholine—which lets your brain change through brain plasticity. But with age, the brain produces less acetylcholine, making it harder to learn and remember.

In this study, researchers collected brain images (PET scans) from five older adults. They then trained using the BrainHQ exercise Freeze Frame for about 12 hours over six weeks. Then their brains were scanned again—and showed a 16-24% increase in acetylcholine in important areas of the brain. This mirrored results showing improved attention in the participants.

This study is small, so more research is needed. We intend to follow up with bigger and better studies. But it’s an exciting finding—the first to show this organic, non-drug approach can lead to higher levels of acetylcholine in older adults. It’s another piece of evidence of the benefits of training with BrainHQ!

You can learn more about this research in this article.

Here’s to a happy, healthy brain—at any age!
