Highest death toll of the pandemic Some shocking news to start with. Scotland has recorded the highest number of daily Covid deaths ever. It also exceeds the peak seen last April, with 1,530 people in hospital with Covid-19 today. Meanwhile, more than 2,300 new cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours. Third vaccine approved for use in UK But there is some good news today, with the Moderna Covid vaccine becoming the third to be approved for use here.
