| Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., said during an update on the status of the panel's Russia probe that the committee had been unable to get cooperation from Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled a dossier on Donald Trump and his alleged ties to the Russian government. The document, published online by Buzzfeed, alleges Russian operatives obtained potentially compromising personal and financial information about the Trump. Moscow has denied having any "compromising materials" on Trump, who dismissed the reports as "fake news." Burr made a public plea to Steele: "I strongly suggest that you come in and speak with us." Burr said the committee is still investigating whether there was collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russia during the presidential campaign.
