Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Shohei Ohtani, was sentenced to nearly five years for stealing nearly $17 million from the Los Angeles Dodgers star to pay off gambling losses.
Mizuhara last year pleaded guilty to bank fraud and subscribing to a false tax return.
