A Texas judge granted an emergency court order allowing a pregnant woman whose fetus has a deadly diagnosis to have an abortion in a state with very limited exceptions for the procedure.

Late last month, Kate Cox, a Dallas-area woman with two children, was told the developing fetus has trisomy 18, a condition that likely will lead to stillbirth or the death of the baby shortly after birth, according to her attorney, Molly Duane.
