Brigard Urrutia strengthens its team of leaders with the appointment of two new Partners

We are proud to announce the strengthening of our teams with the appointment of Paula Camacho and Felipe Mutis as new partners of the Firm. Paula will co-lead, together with Sergio Michelsen, the Trust and Estates and Family Law teams; and Felipe, together with Irma Isabel Rivera, will co-lead the Litigation, Arbitration, and Insolvency team.

The new partners are lawyers who have stood out for their personal qualities and their professional skills, demonstrating exceptional leadership in the legal services market, and achieving an important career in the Firm. Family Law practice areas
 
Lawyer from Universidad de Los Andes with an LL.M from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. She has a postgraduate degree in Telecommunications Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and pursued legal studies at Universidad de Belgrano and Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.

She has been a member of the Firm since 2012 where she provides legal advice to families, many of them with members in different jurisdictions, in the design and implementation of wealth planning structures. In addition, she advises family enterprises in defining and implementing corporate succession and estate planning schemes, emphasizing corporate governance formulas adjusted to family interests and needs. Additionally, she has wide experience in guiding families in drafting and executing family protocols.

She was recently recognized in the prestigious Private Client Global Elite 2022-23 directory. She is a member of the Board of Directors of STEP (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) -Colombian Chapter- and has been an international speaker at this forum and many others.

and Insolvency practice area
 
Lawyer graduated with honors from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Specialist in Administrative Law from the same University. He holds an LL.M in International Dispute Resolution and Management at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, where he obtained a Distinction award.

He has been a member of the Firm since 2013, where he serves as counsel to national and foreign clients, and state entities, in complex litigation before the administrative jurisdiction, constitutional actions, administrative proceedings, and national and international arbitration tribunals.

He has worked in arbitrations conducted under ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law), SCC (Stockholm Chamber of Commerce), and the Arbitration Center of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce Rules, in disputes involving infrastructure, energy, mergers and acquisitions, mining, oil and gas disputes.
