Hi John,

I'm excited to share a favorite sunny-day activity with you...

...Sun Prints!

If you're looking for something that combines art, science, and outdoor exploration, this is it.

This project delivered on so many levels. It's mess-free, produces beautiful results, and it connects with makers of all ages. Even toddlers, as you'll see from my pictures.

You can do this with special paper or fabric. The results can be used as cards, framed art, or stitched into quilts or bags.

What you'll need:

  • Sun print fabric or paper (I've linked my favorite in the blog)
  • Natural materials (leaves, flowers, small toys)
  • Sunshine
  • A bit of patience (perfect for practicing this valuable skill!)

The prints that emerge after rinsing are magical. When she saw her leaf silhouettes appear, my daughter's face was worth every second of the 15-minute wait in the sun.

I've posted a complete step-by-step guide on the blog with all the details, tips, and ideas for using your finished sun prints.

Happy making,

Rachelle
