The Aldi expansion into the Lafayette market reached another milestone Thursday when it opened a north Lafayette stor at 3210 Louisiana Ave. The discount grocer's push to become the third-largest chain in the country is looking that way, particularly in Louisiana where more stores are planned next year. As for a third store in Lafayette, a store official finally commented on the 3 acres it bought last year next to Walmart on Ambassador Caffery Parkway: "There will be more Aldi stores coming, but not for the next year or so," division vice president Heather Moore said.
