Bitcoin price has dipped into the low $9,000s over the weekend, finally breaking out of a tight range from the last week or so of trading.

Top-20 altcoins are a sea of red over the last 24 hours, as Ethereum falls 4% and XRP drops 3%. Cardano and Neo are the biggest losers, each falling 6%.

👉 South Korea Assessing Legal Side of Central Bank Crypto Launch

South Korea's central bank has hired six legal experts to evaluate the legal side of releasing a central bank digital currency.

According to a press release from the Bank of Korea, the experts have been assembled into a legal advisory group, which is comprised of professors, lawyers and a central bank official.

It has been reported that the country does no plan to launch a central bank digital currency at this stage, however they would like to be prepared in the case that one was required.

👉 OKEx Exchange Partners with Paxful for Fiat On-Ramp

Prominent cryptocurrency exchange OKEX has teamed up with stablecoin company Paxful, in an effort to improve fiat on-ramps to the exchange.

Paxful will allow OKEx users to purchase Bitcoin with more than 160 different fiat currencies, making cryptocurrency significantly more accessible to the average user.

👉 New York Times Posts Details Regarding Blockchain Project

The New York Times has released new details about its blockchain project, named the "News Provenance Project".

The project aims at studying the ability to improve the ability of social media users to distinguish the credibility of photos on their feeds, via the use of blockchain technology.

It has been built using IBM's blockchain platform and is planned to move from a research phase into "execution" this year.
