Cavs beat Pistons with total team effort : Despite no Kevin Love and three other rotation players, the Cavaliers got contributions from all across the roster on Monday night as they knocked off the Detroit Pistons, 126-119. Seven Cavs scored in double figures led by Collin Sexton's 27 points. Nik Stauskas came off the bench to add 15 as the Cavs responded from their 0-3 road trip. Read more. Sexton, Osman show growth in win: One of the biggest keys for this season was going to be the development of Sexton and Cedi Osman. As the season winds down, the two young players are playing their best basketball. Sexton in particular is finding his groove after scoring 20-plus points for the sixth game in a row, setting a franchise rookie record. As Chris Fedor of cleveland.com wrote, it's all about the game slowing down for the rookie. "When you first come into the league you don’t know what to expect. And then if you do, you’re ready, but then it’s different when you’re playing and getting reps. It’s just like anything, you start to do something, play it enough and do it enough then you can get good at it," Sexton said. Read more. Sexton doesn't mind "score-first" label: Sexton's point streak has earned him the label of being a "score-first" guard from his coach. The Cavs are hoping they can also get some more playmaking out of him as the point guard. But for now, Sexton is okay with being called a scorer. “I’m my hardest critic because I know what I can do and I strive to be as perfect as I can be even though I know it’s not possible. I just try to do my best each and every game. I feel like I’ve gotten better in every aspect," he told reporters including Fedor. Read more. National stories Bucks top Lakers: The Cavs will host Milwaukee on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Bucks played host to the Lakers sans Giannis Antetokounmpo (sprained right ankle) and LeBron James (left groin soreness). Both were out with injuries. With Antetokounmpo sidelined for the sixth time this season and five other Milwaukee players on the shelf with him, the Bucks still had plenty of firepower to dispatch the Lakers, 115-101, writes Matt Velaquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Bucks claimed their fifth straight win over the Lakers while sweeping the season series for the second successive campaign. Read more.
