| | | | | Australia Next NZ | The eighth edition of BEA’s Australia Next New Zealand, an inspirational magazine tailored for business events planners, has just been released. The magazine, which comes in a digital and print format, is part of BEA’s content strategy and is supported by a media buy with New Zealand business events publication, Meeting Newz. From things that make you think, smile and Instagram to the latest venues, restaurants, and hotels – the magazine is full of bite sized inspiration that is easily digestible and educational to help planners pitch Australia to their clients. |
| | Roundtables with industry | BEA recently hosted three meetings to engage with the business events industry and better understand how Tourism Australia can offer support. Covering the domestic market, as well as New Zealand, the United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA), the sessions provided insight into the current state of play, with the consensus being businesses are feeling more positive about the long-term environment. One key takeaway was the continually need for targeted content, such as case studies showcasing events in action, that can help build confidence amongst decision makers to get back to hosting business events in Australia. If you would like to submit a case study to be featured across BEA’s channels, email Rebecca Berringer rberringer@tourism.australia.com for more information. |

| | | | SITE Webinar discusses destination selection post-COVID | As part of its distribution strategy in the USA, BEA sponsored the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) webinar on 26 March. The webinar, which forms part of SITE’s Destination Re-Boot series, was attended by 223 incentive planners who learnt how destinations are preparing for a post-pandemic world. Outcomes included the need for COVID safety protocols to be made clear and the desire to be kept updated with inspirational content. It was also noted that Oceania, which includes Australia, is still considered a desirable region and is holding steady in the destination selection rankings. You can listen to the full recording of the webinar here with the password N#U08RKI. |
| | Instagram | As of the end of March 2021, BEA’s Instagram presence has reached over 2.2 million people, with the account’s following continuing to grow steadily, and followers ticking over to 4,600 in March. Through a combination of organic and paid activity, our custom business events content for Instagram is continuing to drive engagement with Australia as an events destination in preparation for when international business events return to Australia. Recently we published stories on refreshing wellness experiences and Australia’s hottest new city hotels. |
