MEDIA WINNER: Benjamin Hall Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall published an already acclaimed memoir detailing his rescue and recovery after surviving a horrific attack on his crew's vehicle while covering the war in Ukraine last year. Hall was critically wounded by the Russian attack, losing one leg and both feet, his sight in one eye, and his ability to use one of his hands. The attack also claimed the life of his colleagues and friends, cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian consultant Sasha Kuvshynova. In his new memoir, published Tuesday, Hall describes hearing his daughter's voice during the attack, which he credits with saving his life, and goes on to detail the mission to retrieve him and deliver him across the border to a hospital in Poland. He also lays the blame for the attack squarely at the feet of Russia. The Washington Post's Manuel Roig-Franzia hailed Hall's memoir as "a message of hope" and a "compelling account, thick with intrigue" of the tragic incident. Hall penned a candid and memoir that reveals what he learned from his experiences, remembers his fallen colleagues, and discusses how good people and strong faith have helped him through every step of his rescue and recovery. |
