Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Bill Hemmer

Fox News host Bill Hemmer conducted a tough interview with House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on the latest findings in his investigation into Hunter Biden's business dealings.

Comer joined Hemmer on Tuesday to discuss the latest findings in his investigation, which includes an alleged $3 million wire to a business owned by an associate of President Joe Biden months after he left the position of vice president that could be tied to Beijing.

According to Comer, money was dispersed to multiple Biden family members, including one he refused to name.

Hemmer pushed for additional details, asking if Comer found an actual "business" that would be behind the wire. The congressman claimed he could not find a specific business, prompting Hemmer to note that the investigation has been going on for five years.

Hemmer later switched gears and asked Comer about Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) accusing the Republican of doing “political opposition research” for Donald Trump.

Comer blasted Raskin, insisting he’s never met Trump’s lawyers and hasn’t spoken to the former president since he left office.

“It’s rather incendiary,” Hemmer replied. “We will see if you are onto something. Again, five years investigating. Nothing just yet.”

Props to the host for conducting a tough interview and asking for real answers from a politician without seeming partisan.

MEDIA LOSER:
Chris Plante

Conservative talk radio host Chris Plante offered a conspiracy theory to explain the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, telling Newsmax’s Seb Gorka the fallen officer’s vaccination history should be investigated.

The two were discussing Tucker Carlson’s recent airing of additional footage from the Jan. 6 insurrection, which the top-rated Fox News host claimed showed that the “overwhelming majority” of people there that day were “peaceful."

Carlson also showed footage of Sicknick walking around the Capitol after being physically attacked by the rioters, claiming that his subsequent death from a stroke was unrelated to the injuries he sustained on Jan. 6.

Sicknick’s death was described by a medical examiner as being from “natural causes” connected to the “powerful chemical irritant” that two rioters sprayed on him. Sicknick’s fellow Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards testified that she had seen him right after he got sprayed and he was “ghostly pale” — and then they were tear-gassed.

Those facts, supported by the sworn testimony under oath by multiple witnesses and various criminal court proceedings against the Jan. 6 defendants, seem to have been ignored by Gorka and Plante on Monday’s reality-deprived episode of The Gorka Reality Check.

Plante, seated in front of a "Blue Lives Matter” flag, suggested looking into Sicknick's vaccination history, blaming the officer's death on a conspiracy theory as opposed to using the readily available facts.
