Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart took aim at the media at large for how reporters and pundits have been covering President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents.

Stewart discussed the story with writers Robby Slowik and Jay Jurden on Wednesday's episode of his podcast The Problem with Jon Stewart.

Slowik began by saying, “I love the Biden slow drip here. He’s like a magician just pulling the handkerchief constantly. But it’s just classified documents, like every time you think it’s done –”

The comment prompted Stewart to argue that it's "only a slow drip because the media is broken."

He faulted the media for lacking context in stories regarding the documents, accusing figures of simply "talking" and "trying to one-up" each other with Biden and Donald Trump comparisons.

He went on to reason that the leaders, now in the company of former Vice President Mike Pence, were too entitled to even consider the consequences of mishandling classified documents.

“That’s what I think it is. I don’t think it’s malevolence, I think it’s a manner of being accustomed to a position where if you press a button, they have to bring you a Diet Coke,” he concluded.

Stewart offered refreshing criticism of the media, which has largely divided itself into pro-Biden and pro-Trump camps throughout the story, and unbiasedly hit at both leaders for their actions.

MEDIA LOSER:
Ainsley Earhardt

Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt and contributor Jimmy Faila railed against a new Xbox feature in a truly embarrassingsegment on the wokeness of corporate companies.

During Tuesday's Fox & Friends, Earhardt claimed Xbox decided it is "going woke," because of "climate change."

The evidence of the company's new liberal agenda? A new power-saving mode on its devices.

"So if you own an Xbox you can upload this new program and it will turn off after so long to save the environment, the power," Earhardt said. "And also they are saying the energy saving shut down feature is going to have a slower boot time."

Falia matched Earhardts outrage, claiming the new program was a way for activists "to recruit your kids into climate politics at an earlier age."

"Yeah, you're right, I didn't think of that," Earhardt replied. "They are going after the children."

It seems logical that a brand that produces gaming consoles, which run on electricity and power, would be interested in saving energy.

Whether done for the environment or to help consumers cut electrical bill costs, slamming a company for giving people the option to save power is extreme (and pretty cringe).

The segment is also just one example of Fox News' obsession with defining everything as "woke"or covering it under the culture war umbrella.
