Cable news ratings; Impressive CNN interview; Watters immune to ridiculousness

CNN released a stunning interview with spoke a Russian military defector on Wednesday.

According to the report by CNN’s Fred Pleitgen, Claudia Otto, and Ivana Kottasová, Russian defector, Nikita Chibrin claimed he was witness to looting, rape, and war crimes during his time with the 64th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, a unit commanded by Azatbek Omurbekov, referred to by many as the “Butcher of Bucha.”

The CNN reporters traveled to a “secret location” in Europe to catch up with Chibrin, who showed footage from the frontlines in Ukraine and a signature from the “butcher of Bucha” to prove his background.

Chibrin before the Ukrainian invasion, he and his fellow unit members thought they were on a training exercise.

While in the unit, Chibrin said fellow Russian soldiers were initially excited about killing Ukrainians, but soon wanted out of the invasion.

“I learned they were rapists. They raped a mother and a daughter,” he said.

The soldiers were beaten and fired over the assaults, yet Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the “heroism” of the 64th Rifle Brigade in April.

The soldier alleged rules of engagement became so loose that anyone, military or civilian, holding a phone could be killed on site, out of fear they could share the military’s location.

“There are maniacs who enjoy killing a man,” he said. “Such maniacs turned up there.”

Kudos to the CNN team for snagging an impressive interview and for continuing to expose American audiences to the brutality of the Russian invasion.

Fox News host Jesse Watters hosted a woman who protested at an elementary school while dressed as a cat.

The reason for her peculiar ensemble? To prove that you cannot change your gender in the same way that you cannot change your species.

Because America is so often beyond parody in the year of our Lord 2022, Lindsey Graham appeared on the network dressed as a feline and explained her position on gender.
For clarity, this is not the Lindsey Graham of the United States Senate, but the Lindsey Graham who hosts the Patriot Barbie podcast. Sorry for any confusion, of course.

Yes, Watters has tendency to invite unconventional and sometimes humorous guests to his show … but this interview was just embarrassing.

Watters shared a recent video of Graham crashing a school board meeting to protest a male teacher she said had been showing up to class partially in drag and wearing lipstick.

Costumed as a cat, she asked those in attendance to raise their hands if they believed her when she said she was not human. No one did and, as she explained to Watters, her point was made.

“We really can unite together and fight back and save our children,” she said, completely deadpanned, while dressed like a cat on live TV.

Watters, seemingly immune to the ridiculousness being displayed on his show, actually appeared appreciative of his guest’s willingness to parade around in a cat costume to “save our children.”
