MEDIA WINNER: Jake Tapper
CNN's Jake Tapper offered a fair and non-partisan assessment of new evidence filed in Dominion Voting Systems' $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News.
Speaking to CNN commentator Alyssa Farah and analyst Bakari Sellers about the bombshell lawsuit, Tapper noted Fox News’ on-air talent has been largely silent on the matter, including Bret Baier.
Tapper and the panel highlighted the gravity of the suit, especially as Rupert Murdoch admitted under-oath that Fox News promoted election lies on air.
The panel went on to discuss texts Tucker Carlson sent to an unknown staffer claiming to hate former President Donald Trump "passionately."
While Tapper was generally critical of the network for pushing lies on the 2020 election, he fairly noted that Carlson disparaging Trump in private texts does not actually do much to prove he knowingly defamed Dominion.
In fact, he went as far as to say that the texts to some extent support Fox's argument that the suit is meant to embarrass the network -- an astute take from the CNN host. |
