| We asked: What do you think of Instacart's recent acquisition of e-commerce platform Rosie? You answered: David Taylor, Co-owner of independently owned Libbie Market. Richmond, VA. says...
I take exception to the article indicating that “Instacart wants Independents.” Maybe they do now; but let me share with you my personal experience with Instacart. Even though we are small, we want to remain relevant in all things that are important to our customers. Late in 2017, my partner and I thought we should start down the path of online shopping. [After reaching out multiple times to Instacart], “nothing.” Just system generated responses. So I move on and I find what I believe was a better fit anyway: Rosie! However, I have not forgotten how we were treated by Instacart. I understand big business, I understand being busy, however, everyone deserves common courtesy. We went live with Rosie February 2019 (thank goodness), so we had a year under our belt when all hell broke loose in March 2020. I'm willing to see how it goes with Instacart. They are good at what they do and honestly they may make the Rosie platform better. I'm going to give Instacart the opportunity to win me over. Have another thought?
