Cameron resigns following Brexit vote

Public sector leaders have asked for a period of stability and certainty following the UK’s vote to leave the European Union.

France has overtaken the UK as the world’s fifth largest economy after sterling plunged overnight as a vote for Brexit became increasingly certain.
