Is Your Partner “Testing” You With These TikTok Trends?

BY LOGAN MAHAN

Beyond the blatant money-grabs, TikTok creators are trying to convince us of arbitrary measurements of love. You may have heard of a couple of relationship “tests” circulating the internet within the last year. They have names like the “Orange Peel Theory” and “Bird Test.” Without further context, they don’t sound like they have any relevance to relationships.

As we wrote at the time: “Before diving in, understand that you can’t do all of them; some of them are likely even incompatible. But the idea is to cherrypick those that work for your  life.”

Sometimes, though, it’s worth taking a bird’s eye view of tenets that’ll increase lifespan — the generalist approaches that we all can and should shoot for. The American Society of Nutrition recently identified eight such habits in a sweeping study of 700,000 U.S. veterans. Here are the best general guidelines to keep in mind.
