The gender gap in college enrollment has been growing for decades and has only worsened during the pandemic. According to the National Student Clearinghouse, male undergraduate enrollment fell by nearly 7 percent in the fall of 2020 (nearly three times as much as female enrollment). The decline was the steepest — and the gender gap the largest — among students of color attending community colleges. |
