Three months ago, Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration announced a plan to eradicate widespread homelessness in New Orleans and clear out the large encampments that had sprung up throughout the city. The effort has hit a few snags, but city officials are telling frustrated residents and business owners that a large encampment in Treme will be closed before Mardi Gras. Sophie Kasakove has this report. Police are still investigating the slaying of a Washington state bagel shop owner who was shot to death while visiting New Orleans. Gabriella Killett and Jillian Kramer have the latest developments. Mitch Landrieu has left the Biden Administration, where he's been in charge of the initiative to repair the nation's aging roads, bridges and other infrastructure.
