FORECAST IN DETAIL As Hurricane Matthew poses an increasing threat to Florida and the Southeast coast, we’re watching for possible storm impacts here in the Mid-Atlantic this weekend- although overnight trends have reduced the threat. In the meantime, high pressure delivers a stretch of partly sunny and pleasant days to finish out the workweek. Today (Wednesday): With high pressure still in control, a mostly cloudy morning gives way to partly sunny skies by afternoon. That should help afternoon highs into the upper 60s to low 70s, with low humidity and light winds from the east-northeast around 5-10 mph. Confidence: High Tonight: “Tranquil” would be a good way to describe conditions this evening and overnight. Lows range from near 50 in the coolest spots to the mid-50s downtown, under partly cloudy skies with patchy fog possible overnight.
