FORECAST IN DETAIL More dry and sunny weather is in the forecast, but we’ve lost the warmth and added the wind. Bundle up today as winds gusting up to 50 mph send wind chills plummeting! The chill and wind remain for a couple days with several chances to see the first freeze of the season downtown. Our next chance for showers arrives just in time for Thanksgiving. Today (Sunday): Skies turn partly to mostly sunny, but the big story is the wind and cold. Blowing steadily out of the west-northwest at 20-30 mph, we should see many gusts in the 40-50 mph range. With highs only reaching the mid-40s to near 50, that wind makes it feel like we’re in the 30s for much of the day. Can’t rule out a stray flurry either. Confidence: High Tonight: The most powerful of the gusts have moved on, but the winds stay steady and could occasionally gust 30-40 mph overnight. Even with the wind keeping the air well mixed, much of the area should have no problem dropping to the freezing point, with overnight lows from the mid-20s to low 30s, and wind chills in the teens and 20s under mostly clear skies.
