You may feel a sense of heaviness in your heart, and though you may want to withdraw, it may not be the best thing for you. Instead, your depression may be eased by the presence of caring friends and family. There are times when being alone allows us to wallow in our worries and woes, whereas being with others distracts us from ourselves and helps us to shift our focus to someone else's life. If you do make the choice to be alone today, be sure that you spend it nurturing yourself rather than creating a whirlpool of negative thoughts than can drag you down further. Today though you may be feeling low, reach out to others who can help lift you up and ease your burden. Sometimes the most difficult thing to do when we are feeling low is to reach out for help. But if we allow our emotions to snowball, it can become increasingly difficult to ask for assistance. This is why we practice turning within and listening to our higher wisdom on a regular basis, so that when we are not able to make good choices for ourselves, we are in the habit of turning to our wiser selves inside. Then also we will recognize the voice of guidance and be able to distinguish it from other voices that may lead us astray.
