Mindful Listening | Capricorn Horoscope March 6, 2019 What others have to say may interest you, which could mean that you may be more attentive in your interactions today. This desire to listen more closely to others might stem from your need to really get to the heart of matters, that is, to understand things completely without any room for ambiguity. Maybe this would be a good time to practice the art of true listening, meaning listening without interrupting or formulating your opinions beforehand. While in conversations with others today, you might imagine that your mind is simply a witness to what is happening. Instead of thinking about what you would have said instead, you can use your mind to watch and process the information. Learning to listen in this way might not only help you to be more focused in your interactions but it could also show others the part of you that is truly thoughtful and caring. Consciously giving our minds the task of listening allows us to be present to the people we interact with. It is the nature of our minds to want to jump ahead in a conversation, guessing what others have said or planning what we'll say next, and unless we tell our minds to do otherwise, this will happen more often than not. Giving the mind the role of observer, though, makes it easier for us to concentrate, and this is what makes us truly able to be attentive to others. Letting your mind work as your ears, you will be fully aware of what others have to say today. | DailyOM Course Spotlight by Stephanie Bennett Vogt Why do most clearing methods, though well-intentioned, fall short of helping people clear for good? Why is it so hard to simplify our lives and care for ourselves? Why are we so overwhelmed? It took course author, Stephanie Bennett Vogt, twenty years to break the code; to answer these questions and field-test them. The result is a conscious distillation of space clearing, mindfulness, and Kaizen: the Japanese concept of small steps leading to big changes through continuous improvement. Blended together, these principles work to release physical, mental, emotional, and energetic clutter - from the inside out. Instead of "attacking" the stress and "getting rid" of the stuff, as most methods teach, this course will help you work more gently to release the underlying causes - the patterns, resistances, attachments - of anything that holds you back. One minute of "slow drip" clearing morphs into more minutes, less effort, and less baggage. The result? A clearer home, a quieter mind, a calmer nervous system, more ease, space and light--and a lot more happiness. Top 10 DailyOM Courses 1. Meditation for Transformation 2.
