Letter from the Editor
This week it looks like a chance to ask the age-old question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” I mean this: when we look at whether the use of insulin, or the increased incidence of hypoglycemia, increase cardiovascular incidences in patients with type 2 diabetes. As more and more patients with type 2 are moved to insulin to improve their A1c’s, the thought occurs that although we may improve A1c, we may be decreasing cardiovascular health at the same time.
Laura Martínez López, PharmD. Candidate LECOM College of Pharmacy, has put together an overview of multiple articles that answer the question. Click here for our Laterpay feature to find out what is the real story.
