Caller who stole our hearts
Amid the Melbourne lockdown, Avice Marsh provided a glimmer of hope.

A regular caller to the Afternoons program, Avice would request songs and talk about her upcoming 100th birthday.

It became clear that her birthday was something we all wanted to focus on. It was a date far enough away, at that point, that we hoped that somehow the world would be righted by the time it arrived.

Today, Jacinta Parsons writes, we had so many reasons to celebrate.
