A Letter from the Director
A Note from Lucille Rivera Executive Director October 2018 We have been very busy these past several months with the move to our new gallery, located at 222 Santa Fe Dr. Denver, CO 80223. It was a lot of work moving and many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help us during this transition. Special shout out to our Chairman of the board, Tony Ankele, Chris Duran, Ray and Jessie Lejeune and of course my outstanding team, Cynthia Mascarenas, Michelle Sanchez and Sean Trujillo. Since our move we have had two First Fridays in our new location, one in August and one in September. Both exhibits were spectacular! The August show was wonderful, and we had 1,000 people walk through our doors. Septembers show was just as wonderful with a homage to Carlota Espinoza a well-known muralist. Everyone who has come to the new location are very impressed with it. One challenge we are having is combining the “North/South” gallery exhibits within the new building. However, I will have to say that the artist from both exhibits have been great at working together to put on these two great events. Wonderful team work! Lots of changes, we now have a new website that we are in the process of rebuilding. We have a new CHAC Instagram and Facebook. We are doing a lot more outreach, workshops many thanks to our education director Michelle Sanchez and special thanks to our event coordinator, Sean Trujillo who has done a fantastic job coordinating CHAC events at our gallery and representing CHAC at many other locations. We are looking forward to new things to happen at CHAC in the next year. We are in the process of putting together a five-year plan for programs, events, workshops, exhibitions, fundraising. It’s an exciting time for us! I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Melissa Skrbic-Huss for her years of service on CHAC’s board of directors. Also, thank you Welcome to our new board members, Janel Rosales, Ray Lejeune and Jessie LeJeune! I will close with a final THANK YOU to all of CHAC’s board of directors, sponsors, artists, families and friends who continue to support us with their volunteering, donations and words of encouragement!
