Welcome to the Christmas edition of Champion Clubs eNews. We’ve all felt the challenges of 2020 in different ways, we’d again like to thank all of our volunteers in club land for the outstanding commitment you’ve shown to continue to provide sport and recreational opportunities to the local community. Even Santa got in on the action whilst quarantining in the North Pole dropping down to cruiserweight class and now fighting fit for his annual Christmas marathon. Wishing all of our Cockburn clubs the very best for a safe and happy Christmas break with your loved ones.

Cockburn's Home of Soccer to Get a Facelift Beale Park is the City of Cockburn's premier soccer facility. As a large active sporting reserve, it plays an important role in attracting and growing community sport, as well as providing open space for locals to enjoy. Planned changes include:More car parking with improved access and egressA new multi-purpose sporting and community facilityRe-orientation of sporting fieldsAccessible toiletsLighting upgrades to increase the area and times available for sportA preliminary site design received strong community support and the next step is to commence the concept design. To do so, park users in the local community are invited to provide their feedback on preferred playground, artwork themes and other passive elements by completing an online submission form. The online form can be found on the link below and comments close 4pm Monday 14 December 2020.
City of Cockburn Sporting Clubs Survey The Club Survey was sent out to all sporting clubs based in the City of Cockburn. The aim is to assist Recreation Services to understand more about the operations and needs of sports clubs based in this area and should only take 2-3 minutes to complete. Thank you to those clubs that have completed the Survey. If your club has yet to do so, we'd love it if you could provide the information. The intent is to obtain a true reflection of how clubs are operating as a means to assist them in the current social and economic climate. We'll use the information to help better direct our resources to assist clubs to operate successfully and sustainably now and into the future, so your honesty is much appreciated. It will also assist clubs to gauge their own inner workings as a 'health check' against best practice operations. The survey can be found at the link below. Please ensure only one survey per club is submitted.
Club Fundraising Opportunity Perth Trail Series invite clubs to assist at their events, help with registration and handing out of medals at the end, and in return Perth Trail Series will donate money to the club. Dispute Resolution Procedures During the life of an association there are bound to be times when a person has a concern about the running of the association. All clubs should have a dispute resolution procedure as part of their constitution under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015. The primary purpose of a dispute resolution process is to set out the steps to be followed in dealing with a grievance or dispute and to ensure a fair and timely response. For more information on how to deal with disputes within your club, refer to the state government's Consumer Protection website.
How safe do you feel in Cockburn? We are looking for feedback on your experience and concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in Cockburn.
