KQED’s award-winning restaurant review program Check, Please! Bay Area returns with four new episodes featuring delicious dining experiences from around the region. Firstly, we’re excited to announce that Check, Please! Bay Area has won the Viewers Choice Award for Best City or Regional Program in the 15th annual Taste Awards! This would not have been possible without your votes, so we thank each and every one of you who helped us reach this milestone! Up for a culinary adventure? Each Thursday, starting April 18th, host Leslie Sbrocco joins three local residents as they reveal their favorite places to go for a delicious meal. From sumptuous American classics with a Filipino twist to picturesque, ocean views paired with local seafood, we have top picks and best bites from everyday viewers around the Bay — this time with a two-part twist! For the premiere of its 19th season, the James Beard and Emmy Award-winning program is making a splash for the first two episodes in the Monterey Bay Area! Local residents recommend their favorite eateries as well as the dishes they can’t resist, and then their fellow guests go check them out. After sampling one another’s top picks, they join Leslie in the studio to discuss, dispute, and celebrate their dining experiences. The fun kicks off Thursday, April 18th at 7:30 p.m. on KQED 9, as three guests join Leslie at KQED’s San Francisco studio to break down what’s hot and what’s hotter on the menu at The Butter House in Seaside, Cafe Fina in Monterey, and Corkscrew Cafe in Carmel Valley.
