Christmas Greetings Dear Well, here we are with Christmas fast approaching, I have started this newsletter so many times, let me update you all with Thimblestitch's .... NEWS There are two pieces of really great news, last month Thimblestitch reached its fourth birthday, where has that time gone? Lesley has joined the Thimblestitch team for a few days a week. Some of you may well have already met her – on workshops or just seen her in the shop. We are really enjoying working together, she has been a huge asset already! I will be able to free up more of my time to plan, book and run even more workshops and who knows pick up a needle myself! Even get to write the newsletter regularly!!
The Woodmanton Embroidery Group had a very successful exhibition in the workroom here at Thimblestitch this August. So many of you came to see it and your lovely comments were heart-warming. This will be an annual event. You may be interested to know that we had a large number of people visiting who were not on our mailing list. This is thanks to you all for making such a good job of spreading the word.
It is always exciting when boxes are delivered; our recent arrivals are Doodle Scatter by Makower, having a delightful woodland theme, it also comes in a ready-to-quilt panel (Below) Moda's William Morris V & A Collection, captures his love of wildflowers, plants and birds, enabling you to bring the beauty of nature into everyday life and the home. (Opposite) Stella used Makower’s lovely Handmade range for her Gadget Bag. (Below right)

CHARITY Finally, we are thrilled to announce that our toilet has been twinned with Rubane, Rutshuru in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which, as you probably already know, lies in the western branch of the Albertine Rift between Lakes Edward and Kivu. If any of you feel an urgent need to visit, it lies on Latitude 1˚ 24” S and Longitude 29 ˚ 39” East. Well done everybody – I am sure this has brought relief and comfort to many people!
| As we go to press I am pleased to say we have been able to donate for a second toilet – in Nepal . As we go to press again …… we now have another one in Namidouo, 1 Bouna, Bounkani, Côte d'Ivoire, Africa . I can't thank everyone enough for their donations that has made this possible. Perhaps we ought to aim for a toilet block… Toilettwinning.org | |
