Espressif Releases the ESP32 Board as a Low Cost and Low Power Development Kit

Espressif Systems has launched a new System-on-Chip (SoC) with a series of development kits.

The ESP32 comes with Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth capabilities. The board uses a single core, or dual-core Tensilica Xtensa LX6 Microprocessor (MPU) which can clock up to 240 MHz.

The Particle Boron is a development kit for designing and developing 2G/3G or LTE CAT M1 and Bluetooth systems.

The Boron is equipped with a Nordic nRF52840 and u-blox SARA U201 (2G/3G) or an R410M/R510S LTE CAT M1 module. The system has built-in battery charging circuitry, allowing for easier connection to a Li-Po battery and 20 mixed signal GPIOs to

Arduino Uno Rev3 Open-Source MCU has Digital and Analog I/Os

Arduino’s microcontroller (MCU) board based on the Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller is open-source.

The board has 14 digital inputs/output pins, 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz quartz crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. The Uno Rev3 has everything required to support the microcontroller users can just simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with an AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.

Is Matter Standard Ready for Prime Time

Circuit Cellar Experts, have been asking whether Matter is ready for prime

time, or not. The aim of the Matter Standard is to simplify the smart home, by allowing more Internet of Things devices, to work across manufacturers and products.

There are many global semiconductors, technology, and manufacturers of smart devices being added to the standard all the time. Such as Amazon, NXP, Silicon Labs, and about over 200 other companies are involved.

The standard was developed by Connectivity Standards Alliance and launched in late 2022.

The standard will allow multiple wireless protocols, easing restrictions on the ways devices are connecting to networks. The one feature that is critical to retailers is interoperability.

Matter allows more devices and designs to work with more platforms from engineering to how software is developed. While there is no huge wave of support, the largest and most influential tech companies are adopting the standard, which will eventually mean, everyone will do it.
