| Social Distance Wearable Uses U-blox Module | U‑blox says that its Bluetooth 5 modules are being built into wearable devices developed by Electronic Precepts. The TDS-50 device provides a track and trace solution, with data being directly stored on the device then periodically sent to a web server. In addition, through the social distancing function that is also featured, wearers are given visual and vibrational alerts if another TDS-50 wearer comes within a 2 meter distance of them for over 45 seconds. | |
| Patch Antenna Family Targets IoT and More | Ethertronics, an AVX Group company, has announced its extensive portfolio of high-performance, high-efficiency patch antennas. The patch antennas have small, low-profile form factors to achieve both reduced ground plane and keep-out area size requirements for greater design flexibility. Their higher efficiency, gain and directivity characteristics from 1.5GHz–2.4GHz ensure reliable connectivity with better return loss and minimal interference. | |
| Smart Sensor IoT System Monitors Factory Gear | Advantech has released its stack light tower. Production line managers can use the stack type light tower to monitor the status of their equipment and manufacturing output. Traditionally, there would be a person whose task it is to check the status of each production line from the individual lights on each machine. The WISE-S100 intelligent stack light monitoring sensor was developed to do away with this by simultaneous display of several operational states. | |
| LoRa (Part 4) – Building a Prototype LoRa Device | Circuit Cellar columnist Bob Japenga continues his article series on LoRa. Previously in the series, he described the details of The Things Network (TTN). In Part 4, he explores one way to put a LoRa device on TTN. | |
| i.MX6ULL IoT Gateway Has Mini-PCIe and CAN | Artila Electronics has launched a variation on the Matrix-750 introduced earlier this year. Like that model, the Matrix-752 runs Linux 4.19x on NXP’s 800MHz, Cortex-A7 based i.MX6 ULL. The difference between the Matrix-750 and new Matrix-752 is that the latter model adds 16GB eMMC plus a serial port and CANBus port. Both models measure 112mm x 89mm x 30mm and weigh 350 grams. They both support a 0 to 70°C operating range. | |
