Editor's Notes It's October, and that means the (virtual) Maryland STEM Festival is here. The monthlong spotlight on careers and education in science, technology, engineering and math gets underway with pair of events this weekend: —The opening ceremony will feature a spotlight on manufacturing in Maryland, with remarks from U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin, as well as talks from leaders at Stanley Black and Decker and RPMTech. It starts at 7 p.m. Friday. RSVP. —Robots got jokes on Saturday night, with the Robots vs. Humans comedy show. Engineering prof/comedian Naomi Fitter will be joined by autonomous joke-telling machine Jon the Robot. Plus, an AI-powered improv show.
