Greenville wants downtown living to be affordable

The city of Greenville master plan for downtown is focused on key initiatives that can advance the economic and physical success of the district in the next five to 10 years. The plan calls for a focus on public and private investment “that will attract a talented workforce to downtown.”

City schedules meeting for trail extension plan

The city of Greenville is hosting a kickoff meeting to discuss the Swamp Rabbit Trail Extension Master Plan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the University Center Greenville auditorium. The city has hired Stantec’s Urban Places to develop a master plan for the area located along the planned 4.5-mile extension of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. 

S.C. records first flu death of the season

South Carolina has recorded its first flu-associated death of the season, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. DHEC said Thursday that an individual in the Upstate died from complications of the flu.

Air Premia orders 5 Boeing 787s

Korean startup airline Air Premia has ordered five 787-9 Dreamliner airplanes from Boeing Co., a commitment valued at $1.4 billion at list prices. Air Premia, which plans to launch operations by September 2020, also agreed earlier this year to lease three dash-9s from Air Lease Corp.
