Northbridge company feels sting of Trump's steel tariffs
At least one Central Massachusetts company is anticipating scaling back its operations after President Donald Trump imposed a 25-percent tariff on steel imports last week.
Riverdale Mills, a Northbridge maker of wire mesh for seafood traps and security fencing, told WBJ three railcars of steel from Canada on Tuesday were burdened with $60,000 in tariffs.
Bertucci's sold at bankruptcy for $20M
Northborough pizza chain Bertucci'shas been bought at bankruptcy auction for a deal worth up to $20 million.
The buyer, Bertucci's Holdings, LLC, is an entity owned by Earl Enterprises, the Orlando, Fla. owners of Planet Hollywood, Buca di Beppo and Earl of Sandwich.
Mass. retail cannabis regulators have 16 Worcester County applications
According to the Cannabis Control Commission, 51 applications have been filed for recreational marijuana business licenses, and nearly a third of them are in Worcester County.
Of the 51, 16 are of the companies that have submitted all of their paperwork are looking to open in Worcester County. The next closest are Middlesex, Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties with five each.
