Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1 to Take Over Answering 9-1-1 Calls
Starting in 2026, Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1, a service provided by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, will be answering the four regional districts’ 9-1-1 calls, determining the nature of the emergencies and transferring callers to police, fire or ambulance dispatch centers as required.

Trail Sets New Standard for Sexual Assault Survivors with paceKit Initiative
Developed by social enterprise Fourwords Solutions in consultation with law enforcement and legal professionals, paceKit is now available to individuals over 18 years old in select B.C. cities, with Trail being the first to roll it out.

Delta Secures $14 Million in Funding Through Housing Accelerator Fund
In addition to the building permit fee incentive program, funding from the Housing Accelerator Fund will support further measures to encourage construction, including the expanded use of technology to streamline the development process, reducing parking requirements, and establishing strategic partnerships to facilitate non-market housing.

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is pleased to announce the acquisition of approximately 75 hectares (185 acres) in Electoral Area I – Youbou/Meade Creek that will significantly increase the size of Bald Mountain Park.

Each year CAMA recognizes the value of excellence and professionalism in municipal administration through the Annual Awards Program in four areas of Program Excellence

Awards are presented to local governments and their chief administrators in recognition of their creative and successful programs, projects or services.

SFU Renewable Cities and BC Builds at BC Housing are hosting an in-person workshop designed for local government staff, planners and First Nations working on residential development planning of all types.  

Join Lisa Helps from BC Builds and representatives from Langley, Burnaby and Penticton as they share insights and lessons learned from upcoming housing developments. You will also have space to develop strategies and applications for your context and get connected with practical tools and current local government practices that are accelerating housing development projects. 

Date: Thursday February 13  
Time: 9am–12pm (optional networking lunch at 12-1 pm)

This year, the LGMA is opening applications for the 2025 BC First Nations Public Service Scholarship early! ?Review the webpage for more information on eligibility and how to apply.

Applications must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on October 15, 2025, with notification to the successful candidate being given by the Local Government Management Association by December 12, 2025 at the latest.
