At the 2014 Aspen Ideas Festival, civil rights icon John Lewis reflected on his lifelong struggle for civil and human rights, meditating on the distance traveled since the days of Jim Crow and segregation and the work still to do. “You have a moral obligation, a mission, and a mandate,” Lewis said, “to push and do everything you can to leave this little piece of real estate we call America a little greener, a little cleaner, and a little more peaceful for generations yet unborn.” Watch
