| | This could have been an email Hey Baltimore. Your work week's almost over. But maybe you still have a meeting tomorrow that you wish wasn't on the calendar. So, I ask you these questions, which are inspired by our new Lossless Leader column: What was the most pointless work meeting or task you've ever had? How did you handle it? How do you avoid things at your job that are pointless and take time? Moreover, how do you maximize doing the things that aren't urgent but important at work? Let us know by replying to this email or sending a note to baltimore@technical.ly, anytime. —Technical.ly reporter Donte Kirby (donte@technical.ly) P.S. We’re just over the hump of our Racial Equity in Tech Month, which has been our June editorial calendar theme since 2020. That’s also when Technical.ly began recognizing Juneteenth as a company holiday. Many Black Americans observed this holiday, which commemorates the 1865 date when enslaved peoples of Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom from bondage, for over a century before it became a federal holiday in 2021. But despite that federal recognition, the vast majority of American professionals' employers still don’t grant Juneteenth as a paid holiday. Because we do, and since it falls on Sunday, we will not be publishing new content on Monday, when all Technical.ly employees will be off.
