Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its first quarterly Medicaid and Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) application processing time report that shows the average number of days it takes states to complete MAGI eligibility determinations at application. The data released reflects MAGI determination for the period January-March 2022. The data shows among the 47 states reporting data according to CMS specifications for the January-March 2022 period, 52 percent of MAGI determinations at applications were completed in nearly real time (under 24 hours) and about two thirds were completed within 7 days.
