Cockburn is inviting for all — from families to lifestyle hunters who want to live, work, and play here. In a first for Local Government, we've created a virtual tour featuring several of our key attractions to showcase what makes Cockburn the best place to be. Go on field at a Fremantle Dockers training session at their Cockburn ARC HQ, take to the ice at Cockburn Ice Arena, or dive into new adventures at the Omeo Shipwreck.
We have an amazing coastline that is a popular tourist attraction for Perth residents but, as you know, the area has limited parking. Parking at popular tourist attractions is a worldwide problem and there is no easy solution, so you may have to walk to your desired location. Why is there not more car parking? The City is restricted when it comes to adding more car bays along the coast. In Port Coogee, limited land is available, Coogee Beach is protected by state legislation, and there are restrictions around clearing established native vegetation prevalent along the coastline.
How many car bays are along our coast?
Coogee Beach: 494 C.Y. O’Connor Beach north to Douro Road: 56North Coogee: 181 Woodman Point: 200+ car bays.
Parking close by and walking to your desired location is another option.

Parking illegally blocks the vision of drivers, cyclists, and walkers and can potentially cause an accident or fatality. For everyone’s safety and to avoid fines of up to $500, please adhere to parking signage in the area. Parking on Cockburn Road is not allowed.
Our vision is for Cockburn to be the best place to be. This year, we delivered numerous outstanding projects and initiatives for our community, with our community. Take a look at some of our highlights from 2022.

While leaving high-risk bushfires is the safest option, if you plan to stay and defend your home, you must have an independent water supply and pumping capability. This typically requires water tanks of at least 20,000 litres, a pump, and generator. This is required as mains water supply and pressure cannot be guaranteed during a bushfire due to the risk of power cuts, fire damage and extreme demand. To develop your personal bushfire plan so you and your family know what the plan is if a bushfire starts, click the button below.
This traditional pavlova is a crowd-pleaser and is super easy to make.
4 egg whites1 cup caster sugar1 tsp cornflour1 tsp vanilla essence300ml cream250g strawberries125g raspberries125g blueberriesRecipe and image from Taste.com.au
Step 1 Preheat oven to 120°C or 100°C fan and grease a large oven tray (a round pizza tray works best for this). On a sheet of baking paper the size of the tray, use a plate as a guide to draw a 23cm circle, then a 13cm circle inside it. Place the paper on the tray, pencil-side-down. Step 2 Using an electric mixer, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Add sugar, a spoonful at a time, beating until dissolved between each addition until the mixture is thick and glossy. Add cornflour and vanilla and beat briefly, until just combined. Step 3 Using the pencil lines as a guide, scoop large spoonfuls of meringue onto the tray to form a wreath shape, as shown below. Use the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the top of meringue, all the way around the centre. Bake for 1½ hrs, then turn off the oven, prop the door open slightly and leave to cool completely. Step 4 To serve, carefully run a large knife between the pavlova and the paper to loosen it, then slide onto a serving plate. Whip the cream to soft peaks and spoon over the top of the pavlova. Top with the berries.
