What’s next for Harry’s under the Edgewell umbrella?
| Hi, He’s the founder of not one, but two billion-dollar startups in direct-to-consumer brands Warby Parker and Harry’s: We’re excited to welcome Harry’s co-CEO Jeff Raider to Code Commerce this fall. In May, Harry’s announced that it had agreed to be acquired for $1.37 billion by Edgewell Personal Care — the maker of Schick, Banana Boat, and Hawaiian Tropic consumer brands. When the deal closes, Raider and his co-founder Andy Katz-Mayfield will lead all of Edgewell’s operations in the US. The acquisition will be the latest in a line of old-school CPG giants acquiring buzzy DTC startups, following in the footsteps of Unilever’s acquisition of Dollar Shave Club three years ago. Since the announcement, Harry’s has continued to build out a men’s grooming empire with the launch of a new line of hair care products, Hair by Harry’s. We’ll ask Raider where Harry’s will go next and how he plans to reinvent Edgewell’s own brands. The Recode Events Team
