COVID-19 has exacerbated the precarity of refugees’ lives: access to hygiene and health facilities, decent housing, and jobs is low. Kemal Kirişci argues that granting trade concessions to countries hosting large numbers of refugees would be a novel way to support those refugees’ independence and livelihoods while also fighting the effects of the pandemic.
