Oct. 4th Dear CHAC Community, Fall is a very special time of year as it brings with it the start of the Dia de Los Muertos traditions. The land starts to glisten with yellows, golds, oranges, reds and browns as every one starts to prepare to welcome fall. The Chicano and Latino communities have been keeping Dia de Los Muertos traditions alive for hundreds and even thousands of years, and it is beautiful to see them flourishing today. This is a time of remembrance, celebration and community. CHAC Gallery is honored to hold space for the community during this sacred time and help keep these traditions alive. CHAC has several education workshops that we invite you to consider attending for Dia de Los Muertos. CHAC Members are being e-mailed discount codes for being a member. Our CHAC master artists are teaching Mini Altars, Calaveras and Catrina Masks this year! CHAC Gallery will have three Dia de Los Muertos exhibits this year! Join CHAC on Saturday, November 2nd, for the first annual Mariposa Gala: A Celebration of Life, Death, and Art at the Cottonwood Lodge, 9650 Sheridan Boulevard, Westminister, CO 80031.
Come celebrate with your face painted as a Calavera and dressed as a Catrin or Catrina in celebration of Día de los Muertos. The Mariposa Gala will be a festive and delightful event celebrating CHAC’s 46th anniversary. The evening will feature dinner, entertainment, an art auction, the honoring of Lucille Ruibal Rivera’s legacy, and a recap of CHAC’s history and impact on the Denver community.

Cheryl Soltis Inspired by her own spiritual path and pilgrimages, Cheryl Soltis shares with you her love of oil paint and Spirituality. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Cheryl currently resides in Park County, Colorado (South Park). Cheryl is trained in Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), and Psychology-Kinesiology (Psych-K). She has studied with psychologist, psychotherapist, author and educators Gay Hendricks, PhD & Kathlyn Hendricks, PhD in the Conscious Loving and Foundation Programs taken at the Hendricks Institute. A trained commercial artist and a retired public school educator with a BFA (Bachelor’s of Fine Arts) and Master’s Equivalency in the state of Pennsylvania, Cheryl established a full professional life prior to her retirement in 2020. Called by a local Bucks County, PA church in July of 2000 to attend a workshop that she did not sign up for, Cheryl met don Miguel Ruiz. The foundation of Cheryl’s art and mentoring is rooted in the Toltec Masteries of Transformation, Awareness, and Intent as taught by Ruiz, author of “The Four Agreements”.
