Happy spring, comms pros! |
We find ourselves this year in a technological spring of sorts. As the latest wave of technology flourishes and blossoms, opportunity abounds for communicators. |
Artificial intelligence and other advancements will continue to incite seismic change across the discipline of communications, our workflows, the hurdles we must overcome and the way we interact with colleagues and employees. |
According to Ragan’s 2024 Communications Benchmark Report, 20% of communicators currently report using AI tools, compared to 3% last year. Another surge is likely this year, with 57% saying they expect increased use of AI-powered tools in their roles over the next three years. |
It’s a promising moment to be in this field. While this future takes shape, we too may grow, learn, stretch and adapt, to develop new skills and solve new challenges: 65% of survey respondents reported positive feelings, saying they were “excited” and “curious” about AI. |
That’s why one imperative remains clear: We must remember to keep humans and humanity at the heart of all we do. AI can improve our efficiency and allow us more room to grow creatively, but it’s vital to remember that that creativity is rooted in the same core tenet as spring blooms: life. |
To learn more about the way AI is changing communications and what you can do to grow along with its future, join Ragan during Communications Week, Nov. 12-15, either at our Future of Communications Conference in Austin, Tex. or at our satellite events coming to select cities. |
