Understanding & Engaging 21st Century Volunteers Workshop Volunteering today is not the same as it was 20 years ago. Join us for an online workshop on Thursday 12 November with international guest speaker and leading authority on volunteering, Rob Jackson from the UK, to look at some of the key ways in which society is changing and how these changes affect volunteering. Rob will also discuss what leaders of volunteers can do to update their practices to accommodate these changes, further enhancing their engagement and retention of 21st century volunteers. | Cooby Swap & Share Come along on the first Saturday of every month to Coolbellup Hub for a swap and share event. Arrive at 9am to set up your table, have a chat and a cuppa. Anything homemade or homegrown (eg: fruit, veggies, herbs and flowers) is welcome for the swap. From 9.30am the swapping begins! Wide Angle Film Festival As part of its celebration of the International Day of People with Disability, the City is offering free online access to the Wide Angle Film Festival. By showcasing award-winning International and Australian short films made by people with disability, the festival gives everyone the opportunity to see the diversity of our communities reflected on screen. The festival will be released online 1 November 2020 and films will be accessible to audiences for one month. Closed and open captions, audio description, social stories and trigger warnings are available for viewers. |
