You may remember the initial announcement of this project nearly two years ago, but now it's set to begin construction. Work on the $100 million renewable fuel plant in Jeanerette that will convert sugar cane bagasse into fuel pellets will start soon. The plant will create 126 jobs, with an average salary of $62,500, Louisiana Economic Development said. Over 100 indirect jobs will be created in Acadiana as a result.
