Consumer spending on automotive repairs way up in Lafayette Parish, data shows

The April report on taxable retail sales in Lafayette Parish came out on Monday and showed an interesting trend: spending on automotive repairs continues to be up significantly. With new cars being harder to come by and more expensive, people are spending more on keeping their vehicles on the road instead of buying new ones.
