The most important vote for the TN legislature in the next 2 years will take place on Thursday November 17th. This is the date that the Republican caucus will choose the Speaker of the House. The Speaker will then set all the committees and the sub-committees in place, and all of us know that most of our conservative bills are stopped in these committees. If the Republican caucus would choose Jimmy Matlock as Speaker over Beth Harwell, we would see committees more favorable to conservative agenda.
Please contact your Republican House Representatives ASAP and politely ask them to vote for Jimmy Matlock as Speaker of the House. I have attached a list of all the newly elected Republican Representatives along with a list of Republican Representatives from the last session with the phone numbers. If your Republican Representative is a first term legislator, you can e-mail them or try to go through the clerks office at (615) 741-2901
