Core 256 at the Playback Station

Recently, we shared a very nice snapshot from the playback station in the Post Malone live production. It was sent to us by WIllie Linton, who is a playback engineer for Post Malone and many other artists.

Well, we hooked up with Willie Linton at AES last month and as he states in this video, he uses three Core 256 units. We spent a few hours with him to learn much more about that, so... A much more detailed case study is in the works. Please stay tuned for more!

AX Center & MOM joins Dolby
Atmos Music's Berlin Accellerator

As a collaboration with SAE Berlin and We Create Music, Dolby invited 25 songwriters and producers on a trip down the river in Berlin.

Twenty-five music creatives participated in the program and worked across three Dolby Atmos studios, including a studio built on a boat that sailed the Spree River through the center of Berlin.

On the audio interfacing and monitor control side of things, all studios were equipped with an AX Center and a MOM, and ultimately 13 originals songs were created during the Dolby Atmos Music Berlin Accellerator event.

The main chapters in an amazing
story of music, time and passion

Chapter 1: A five decade old and beautiful demo by John Lennon on cassette.

Chapter 2: A failed attempt to use it for a final The Beatles song in 1995.

Chapter 3: A leap forward in technology, making it possible to record the song 'Now and Then' with Lennon's voice isolated.

As with all forms of art, opinions span the entire spectrum, but we definitely feel that technological developments shouldn't be ignored when you have something worth making and sharing with the world.

It makes a lot of sense, especially when you watch this short film about the whole process ( in which we spotted a MOM on the Neve desk. 😉):
